Getting Started

Many people dream of starting successful companies and growing massive social media followings. What often goes unsaid, is all the work, obstacles, and challenges that must be overcome to do these things. Tyler Webster has done all of these things. Starting out in a small rural town in the southeastern part of the United States, Tyler got his start by popularizing the Twitter handle @drunkamerica. Since then, he’s gone on to build or be a part of several successful businesses, and his latest business venture is no different. Tyler is the founder of FirstSocial; described as a social media platform designed to foster and promote free speech.

How It Happened

We’re no stranger to the fact that we’ve had some major shifts in the USA in the last few years- both socially and politically. One of these shifts, is the idea that many people are being unfairly censored and stopped from voicing their opinions. Seeing this, Tyler felt as though it was time to take actions into his own hands.

“I just wanted to give people a place they could go and let their voices be heard, no matter who they are, where they’re from, where they stand politically, or what their opinions are.” Tyler says.

So, he started FirstSocial with the slogan “Where Free Speech Exists”

Overcoming Challenges

One of the challenges a lot of people are currently facing on social media, is knowing exactly what the rules are. Sometimes, they can be blurry and not very specific, and seem unfair and biased. However, when asked about this, Tyler was optimistic and hopeful.

“I still have hope. I think we can build something that gives everybody the right to speak freely, as long as they are not breaking the law, spamming, or trying to destroy the community we are building.”

According to Tyler, if you have a loyal and real fan base on other social platforms, they want to give people the opportunity to move them over to FirstSocial without the worry of being banned, or having posts taken down over trivial matters or concerns. FirstSocial gained 45K+ members in just one week. The people are tired of big tech and Tyler Webster has built a solution.

Up, Up, And Away

When asked where he sees FirstSocial going, and what his plans and goals for it are, Tyler tells us in conclusion:

“I personally think we can be the next big thing. People are upset that other platforms are being over-censored and some are even being shut down. So we aren’t stopping any time soon. We’re here to stay. We want people to feel heard, no matter what their demographics or beliefs are. I’m excited to take this to some crazy levels and be the future of social media.”
