Justin Hermann grew up in the middle of the desert in Arizona, and was the eldest child in a family of four kids. All throughout his childhood, and together with his siblings, their lives centered around sports and family. Most days he and his brothers would run amok in the desert riding bikes and playing roller hockey while his parents worked.

At the age of twelve, Herrmann entered into the workforce, stocking vending machines at his mom’s beauty salon. From the age of twelve until he was nineteen, he helped run the vending machine business. Additionally, he landed his first hourly retail job at age sixteen. He continued to work retail and some additional construction jobs through the end of his highschool days and early hockey career. He served as the captain of his high school hockey team, as well as playing competitively at the highest level in Arizona. He then went on to continue his hockey career at Arizona State University during his freshman year.

The Fall out.

Justin Hermann became the second person in his family to complete a college degree, with his Dad being the first. Just as his Father, who worked part-time as a carpenter to pay for his Construction Management degree, Justin worked his way through college by taking on construction jobs as well as serving tables. His Freshman year he continued to follow his passion playing hockey at ASU. Arduous studies with intense hockey practice led him to slowly burnout amid his sophomore year. Hermann knew he had to make a change. He switched majors, put a pause on playing hockey and eventually got involved with ASU greek life. During this transition, he worked hard to find his way in academia and strived to build lasting relationships within his cohort and fraternity brothers. Ultimately looking back, he said he wouldn’t have done anything differently.

The Rise.

Justin Hermann completed his studies and graduated in 2016 from ASU. He immediately set out to make his first 6-figures. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but after completing his rigorous final semester of 22-credit hours while simultaneously interning 20+ hours a week, he was prepared to put his head down and finally start to become profitable for the work he was doing.

Justin began his career as a project engineer in AZ,  with the leading technical builder at the time. The salary plus bonuses got him about three-fourths of the way to his financial goal. However, he was looking for something to bridge the gap. From stocks, to Amazon, Craigslist gigs, real estate, he ultimately unintentionally landed on Insurance through a friend.

Insurance started as his vehicle to bring him closer to his 6-figure financial goal, he was committed to working nights and weekends, however with his newfound success in the Insurance field, things quickly escalated and he made his transition to full time. Hermann said aside from the competitiveness he weirdly felt a calling to pursue the opportunity as he found himself doing a lot of soul searching prior to going all in. Hermann reflected on how much his family lost due to the 2007 recession, where the construction industry was hit hard. Ultimately, pursuing the insurance industry made sense for Hermann, as it is seen as a recession proof business.

 The Experience and Pay Off

In the first month, Justin worked very hard to learn about this unfamiliar industry and by the second month he moved into a leadership role with his company, and month 3 went on to become a top producer and leader. During his 3rd month is where things started to really click Justin had a life changing experience where he assisted a twenty two-year-old couple he protected and processed a death claim for their child. This encounter helped him find a whole new level of  purpose in his career. After a year, he moved to a regional role where he helped the agency open two offices, one of which he moved to Texas to lead. He earned a spot on the Board of Directors for a $55 Million agency. Now in 2021, a year into the global pandemic, he has helped lead the agency from in-person appointments to working remotely from anywhere. He was able to work from home over the course of the past year, thus bringing home a household income total comp close to a half a million dollars.
