M3LO Capone is a 22-year-old musical artist with an old soul and big dreams. He is a talented young artist born and raised on the southside of Chicago. Melo is his nickname from childhood, and he added “Capone” to his name as a nod to Al Capone from Scarface. “Al Capone rose to the top of the world using little to nothing…I’ve always looked up to that and kept that mindset with everything I want to achieve in life.”
M3LO began his interest in music when he was 13 years old in 8th grade. He began taking music seriously once he got a bit older and used it as a form of therapy to express his true feelings. He says, “Growing up was a challenge, it kind of forced everyone around me to take life serious and be competitive. I lost friends at a very young age…I grew up in an area where one wrong move could cost you your life forever.” M3LO expressed that dealing with hardships and police brutality in his environment plays a key role in his music.
M3LO has a versatile sound that he hopes will have an international impact. “I want people who can’t go to areas that I’m from to understand what it is like to live there and the situations I’ve been through being in that environment.” Overall, he just wants to connect with people through his music.
