Nina Baumer’s newest single “Bad Excuse” is a perfect pop tune in every way. The production is led by a heavy bass line that pulls you further into the swirling synths and percussive accents. These elements leave room for the songstress to flaunt her show stopping vocals and radiant confidence all while positioning the young artist as a force in pop music. When talking about the writing process, Nina says: “‘Bad Excuse’ was written about a not so great person with four of my great friends. The session was initially not even for me as an artist. We all just wanted to get into a session, write, play and create.”

This latest release will be the first of a line of songs the musician will be presenting for the rest of 2020 and into 2021. Having spent a fresh first year in Los Angeles, Nina Baumer has become much more confident in what she wants and how she sounds and says: “By the time I had tracked the final vocals, this song became the perfect first song to release to show listeners which way I am heading sonically.”

Nina Baumer is a Chicago-born, Aussie-raised pop artist and singer/songwriter recently moved from Boston to Los Angeles. Before moving to the United States, the young musician had already performed on shows such as Australia’s School Spectacular, The Netball World Cup Opening Ceremony (Fox, Foxtel), and The Voice – Australia, where judge Ricky Martin dubbed her “a natural performer and pop star.” Carrying a dynamic and powerful voice, Baumer has dominated coast to coast performing shows across cities like LA, NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, and DC.
