A wardrobe for the stars and a mecca of fashion excellence. Celebrity stylist Kim Dillinger speaks on working with stars like Omarion and building her dynasty.
How did you start your career? I started in fashion on a reality show called “ blood, sweat, heels” on Bravo for both season one and two.
As a woman of influence and a respected business mogul how do you aspire to assist individuals wanting to get into your field? To start a fashion school like the school of style. I get asked all the time from aspiring stylist on how to break into the industry and I believe the best way is hands on experience. I didn’t go to fashion school. Working side by side with my mentor I gained all my knowledge.
Describe your greatest strengths in your career. The ability to connect with people no matter what age they are. I have worked with all age groups and animals lol. I think this stems from me being the oldest child and mother. I love to see people win. It makes me feel good.
How important is it to make a difference? I have spent many days thinking about what my obituary would say and it dawned on me that my life purpose is to be apart of the change I wish to see. Helping to get the guns off the street because my children’s father life was taken by gun violence and opening more shelters & programs for the youth.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? Although fashion was how I started in the industry I am now working in sport’s entertainment. I felt I wasn’t being challenged anymore. Especially after the pandemic. My youngest son plays baseball and is extremely great at it and I’m excited for this new chapter. After working Super Bowl, all star and covering Yankee events I believe this is where god wants me to be at this time.
