Boosie’s tribute track to the late-Migos Takeoff, “Rocketman,” receives a remix treatment with Jeezy and Kodak Black joining the hit. While the two guests add star-studded feature verses, Boosie raps about various perspectives ranging from his music, his film, and accessibility.

“I drop an album and I hope they cop it (Hope they cop it)/I drop a movie and I hope they watch it (Hope they watch it)/If they refusin’, I think losin’ and/think ’bout a rocket (Feel lost)/My life confused, it feel like they usin’ me, ’cause I got it/Raised ’bout it, ’bout it, damn shame, I never thought to cop it (Fat-ass),” Boosie raps on the opening line.

Boosie, like the majority of southern hip-hop superstars, was a fan of Takeoff and the Migos. Boosie was very vocal on the respect and honor of today’s hip-hop
stars upon Takeoff’s death in November 2022. On the track, Boosie would face his confusion on today’s streets and players.

He continues: “These kids real out their mind, it’s another time (Another time)/His sister fuckin’ grown men, his granny thirty-five (Thirty-five)/He got his time, now he no longer won’t throw a sign (Throw a sign)/’Cause them niggas ain’t send him nothin’, since he got to dyin’/To all the step, you ain’t tired of seein’ your mama cryin’?”

“Rocketman” will appear on Boosie’s forthcoming album and will serve as the follow-up to Lines For Valentines, released in February 2023. Kodak Black, who appears on the track courtesy of Atlantic Records, dropped his latest single, “No Love For A Thug.” Jeezy appears on the track courtesy of his new deal with Def Jam Recordings, which released his eighth album, Snowfall, last year.
