One of the things I enjoy most about being a writer is that it constantly allows me to reach out and connect with powerful people in various sectors of the business world. It offers a diverse and fascinating perspective, and today, I had the good luck of speaking to Sandi Glandt, a high-class productivity coach who makes it her sole mission to empower other women. In her own words, Sandi helps stressed and burned out businesswomen relax and regain control both of their careers and their lives.
“Some of the biggest accomplishments of my career would be the wins and testimonials I get from working with my clients. Businesswomen, moms, wives who tell me that after working with me they finally feel like they can “do it all”. When I hear that the women I work with truly feel fulfilled and that they are living up to their highest potential and can be the best wives, mothers, friends, women in business- this creates a ripple effect in their entire life and it is something I never get tired of hearing!”
Sandi, who is also the author of “Slay Your Day”, a guide to becoming more productive and unleashing your full potential, focuses her attention on helping women overcome the guilt that is often associated with wishing to have both a successful, satisfying career, as well as a family life. Often, even in today’s world, women are being forced to choose one of the two, but according to Sandi, there is no reason why you should not have both.
“The truth is that women can have it all, but trying to do it without the right tools and support can lead to epic failure.”
Sandi is one of those people who does not simply preach, but chooses to lead by example. Mom of two boys, a two-and-a-half-year-old and she is expecting her second son next month in July, Sandi never saw that as an obstacle to also having a full-fledged and successful career. But noticing that a lot of women around her did not have that same drive and noticing the tendencies toward burnout in her own life, Sandi saw an untapped, yet incredibly important aspect of women’s life. So, she set out to help women juggle both the family and the career and not feel ashamed for wanting both.
Naturally, we asked Sandi what was the secret to her own success, both as a mom and businesswoman, and she pointed us toward two things: having the willingness to learn from other people (which is something she tries to inspire in her coaching), and the ability to accept the help of other people.
“It does take a village. If I didn’t have the help and support from those around me, I wouldn’t be able to leverage my time/ resources the way I do.”
One of the reasons why Sandi has had such immense success in her career is that she speaks to her clients with a sense of kinship, having once been trapped under chores, responsibilities and to-do lists herself.
“Trust me when I tell you it all STARTS WITH YOU and when you start investing in yourself- whether it be by reading a book, taking a course/ class and surrounding yourself with the right tools and support system- you CAN HAVE IT ALL!”
