- Act natural- How many times have your friends told you to “be yourself, act natural on your date. They must accept you for who you are. Trying to act “natural” most likely will cause you to be overthinking more than usual. Instead, you should focus on being present and having fun. By genuinely enjoying your date, your vibe will be more positive and enjoyable for the other person.
- Use pick up lines- oftentimes this will come across incongruent to who you are, instead have an engaging/authentic conversation that is relatable to the woman you are trying to connect with.
- Going on a romantic 5 star dinner for the first date- this puts too much pressure on the situation and the girl. It is also too much of an initial investment from you, instead keep things light and fun, drinks and maybe finger food, or a walk around the park with ice cream.
- Being a “nice guy” / “Too polite” – this can often be misinterpreted as not being confident nor masculine. Instead, be a gentleman who is also not afraid to show his masculine side.
- Showing too much sexual interest before creating a connection- this comes off thirsty and desperate and makes the girl feel like you don’t care about her and only want a sexual interaction. It is okay to display some sexual interest but remember that for women connection comes before arousal.
- Showcasing your success/career/accomplishments (trying to impress her)- guys will often “brag” thinking it’s impressing the girl but it comes off as low status. Instead, you can subtly and humbly imply your success without blatantly announcing it.
- You should always compliment- False. Over complimenting the girl (showing too much interest) can often be seen as unattractive to women. You think she wants to be showered with compliments when really women appreciate a challenge as well.
- Wait x amount of days to call/text her again- False, there is no specific amount of time you should wait to contact a girl because every interaction/situation is different.
- Wait x amount of dates to make a move/have sex-False, there is no specific amount of time you should spend with the girl before sealing the deal. Every relationship is different & situational. Every girl moves at her own pace.
- Showering with her flowers/gifts- False. Men usually think by spending money on gifts for the girl they will impress her when in reality they don’t even know this girl yet. Instead, wait until you figure out who she is, and what she likes.
