The recent ceremony was a momentous occasion for the graduates, who were celebrated for their hard work and dedication to academic excellence. Esteemed guests, including alumni, delivered speeches of advice and encouragement to the graduates. This graduation ceremony was the largest in the university’s history, with all students receiving their Ph.D.

The graduates were reminded of their responsibility to use their education to impact their respective communities before the ceremony concluded positively. Dr. Carl Robinson, the President and Founder of Harvest Christian University emphasized the institution’s values and the importance of using knowledge to serve others.

Dr. Jonathan Robinson, the Provost, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and encouraged their continued pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. The ceremony concluded with pride and accomplishment for the graduates, their families, and the Harvest Christian University community.

Nayo Dez knows her purpose is music

Nayo Dez is an artist unafraid to share her world with listener’s everywhere. With a larger than life personality, her vibrant energy radiates with every melody. Currently residing in San Antonio, TX but born and raised in New Jersey her platform continues to grow. Nayo grew up in a church household, developing the strength and range of her voice. Whenever she took the stage she blew audiences away with her natural talent.

Further pursing her passions she began traveling across the nation to perform in front of greats like Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams. Although she previously recorded music, it wasn’t until 2021 that her singles hit streaming services. The single 2.14 dropped, followed by the album 333 in 2022. The album included 6 masterful tracks, showing her variety and individuality as a music artist. The single Island Girl dropped early in 2022, a beautiful and exciting song dedicated to her Haitian heritage. Receiving praise for the single, she partnered with Austin, Tx seafood restaurant El Marisquero on a commercial using the song. Check out the video for the single below!

Nayo Dez is a Force

With the success of her single Island Girl continuing to expand, the video for the single further adds to the magic of Nayo Dez. Rocking a real mermaid tail with colors of green and blue, Nayo is splashing around full of vibrancy throughout the video. She also had the chance to go on tour earlier this summer, performing in states like California, Washington and Arizona.

Nayo Dez gave a captivating tiny desk performance for the single Stay right underneath the Hollywood sign. She also blew folks away performing in the Grand Canyon National Park while in Arizona. An expert at stage presence and crowd engagement, Nayo Dez gives a thousand percent when performing. Known to sing to audience members during her set, she captivates anyone who’s in the room.

Furthermore, sharing her music with the world, she continues to sell out shows. October 8th, she is co-headlining the show Bosses & Bossets: Black and Gold Music Fest in her home of San, Antonio Tx in addition to dropping new music at the show. Although you might not be at your final destination and where you truly see yourself. Your work ethic is undeniable. Do you have any wisdom or advice to give to your peers or those that are looking to take the same route as you? 

Being self-sufficient is everything nowadays. Learn how to produce yourself, learn how to mix and master. Learn how to graphic design, learn how to edit videos. Try to do everything you can yourself until you find people who believe in your vision who are eager to help you. 

Thoughts on the music industry? Is it as cut throat as everyone says?

Yes and no. I’ve met a lot of cool, real people in the industry but there’s for sure the stereotypical smooth talking, snake types who are looking for ways to get something from you and don’t care if they screw you over or steal from you.

Do you want to sign somewhere eventually or do you see yourself taking the independent route for the long run?

I could see it going either way but I really like the idea of dropping music when I want to and owning 100% of it. I’d sign somewhere if it felt like family and I retained control but idk we’ll see!

What type of music did you grow up listening to?

pop-punk, ska, reggae, post hardcore, really anything you’d hear at warped tour. It wasn’t until I was about 20 where my musical tastes drastically changed and I started listening to more indie/r&b/chillwave/rap. I’ve actually been revisiting a lot of the early music I grew up on as of lately and those influences are creeping into the next project!

What is your favorite record that you have dropped to date? Not the fan favorite, your favorite. And why?

My song “Euphoria” from my first album. It’s a song about losing a close friend of mine to a drug problem. The feeling of the music and subject matter mesh really well imo and I still feel a slight OBE when I hear the chorus today.

of the movie is to show elements of gang life, and to promote the idea that living
that life hurts a person and their loved ones far more than it helps.”

CEO of Romario Facey Productions, Romario Facey, is the director/producer of
Texas Kill City. Co-starring Harmini, Facey plays the main character and gang
leader “Taz”.
Harmini writes and performs the main soundtrack of the film titled, “Texas Kill
City”. Featuring Melissa “M3ll” Gama, the single’s music video was recorded in
the same locations the movie was filmed, which makes the project even more
unique.

Other leading co-stars of Texas Kill City include: Patrick Murrell, Michael Green,
Christian Luz, Kenesha Holloway, Brooklyn Johnson, Jesse Garcia, Delano Williams,
and other supporting talents.

“As an actor and songwriter, my goal is to always use my gifts and talents to
inspire positive change in the lives of others. I am grateful to have had
the opportunity to be a part of this production, and to build new relationships
with amazing people who share the same passions as I do. Im looking forward to
the sequel of Texas Kill City”
