Johni Demeatri puts the ghetto gospel into rnb music

Chicago talent continues to dominate mainstream media and music with its diverse creative community. Highlighting the influence of all areas of the Windy City, one artist in particular pushes a sound not only soothing to the ear, but soothing to the soul. Johni Demeatri delivers a different type of gospel through her melodic rnb sound.

The Chicago native and self proclaimed “Queen of the Ghetto Gospel,” pours her heart and soul into every piece of her delivery. Inspired by the influence of old school greats like Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers and more, her music is already timeless. In 2017 her first streaming single “Wrong for This,” gave fans a taste of her hypnotic sound. Following up in 2018 with “Right Now,” and “EnVogue,” she quickly made a name for herself in music.

Following up with her alluring 2018 EP Overdue, Johni took the sound of rnb and soul and made it her own. Despite growing a massive fanbase in a short amount of time, it wasn’t until her 2021 EP Final Notice that she gained critical acclaim. The lead single from the EP “Energy,” was featured on MTV Jams!, shortly after its release. Currently preparing for her third project this summer called Disconnected=Cutoff, Johni Demeatri isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Stream her latest sultry single “All For Me,” available on all platforms now!!
