Success stories are often viewed through the lens of traditional career paths and achievements. But for Maja Kazazic, success has taken on a whole new meaning, one that her unique experiences and challenges have shaped. Maja’s journey to becoming an empathy coach is proof of how resilient the human spirit can be. Her story inspires us to pursue our dreams, no matter how unconventional. Maja was born in Bosnia in 1977 and grew up amid the Bosnian War. Her childhood was marked by constant fear and uncertainty, and she witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of war.

Maja’s journey to success was a challenging one. After the war, Maja moved to the United States and started a new life. However, she faced a new challenge when she had to undergo 100 surgeries and relearn how to walk again. Maja never gave up hope on her dream to run and play sports again, even though it seemed impossible.

It took 15 years and meeting a dolphin, Winter, to help Maja achieve her dream. Winter was a rescued dolphin who lost her tail due to injury. Maja was asked to help Winter adjust to her new prosthetic tail. This experience inspired Maja to develop new prosthetic leg materials that would allow her to run her first 5K marathon and walk pain-free. These new materials didn’t just help Maja walk and run pain-free but also thousands of other injured US Veterans who suffer from similar injuries.

Maja’s unconventional journey to success didn’t stop there. She became a certified empathy life coach, keynote speaker, and corporate culture and team-building expert. Maja’s personal experiences of trauma and loss have given her a unique perspective on the power of empathy to transform lives.

Maja believes that empathy is the foundation of healthy relationships, both at home and work. Unfortunately, empathy is often lacking in today’s world, particularly in the workplace. Many companies prioritize productivity over people, leading to a toxic corporate culture and high employee turnover rates. Maja believes that prioritizing empathy and emotional intelligence is the key to fixing these issues. By creating a culture of compassion, companies can improve communication, collaboration, and employee retention, leading to higher profits and a more positive work environment.

Maja’s journey to success has been anything but conventional. From surviving a bombing in Bosnia to becoming an empathy coach, her story is one of grit, determination, and empathy. Through her work, Maja has shown the world nothing is impossible with hard work, determination, and empathy.

Maja’s story is not just one of overcoming adversity but also of giving back. Her innovative work with new prosthetic leg materials has helped not only herself but also thousands of US veterans who suffer from similar injuries. Her commitment to helping others has made her a beacon of hope for many.

Maja’s journey to success is one that everyone can learn from. Her story reminds us that we can overcome even the most challenging obstacles with perseverance, hope, and empathy.
