He’s returned with his most recent track, “Meant To Put A Hook,” which has a hook about the record’s lack of an actual “hook.” A hook is a short melodic phrase that is used to catch your attention and keep you listening to a song. For this record, Bernay raps about why he didn’t put a hook creating a new lane. With lyrics like, 

“Meant to put a hook but I’m tellin you what the truth do / Meant to put a hook with some catchy sh*t/ man F*** that  / Meant to put a hook bout some money shit b*tches love that / Meant to put a hook bout some killa sh*t where my gun at…” 

Doley has fun with the record. With “When’s The Right Time?, it opens up with a woman speaking about how he doesn’t appreciate himself the way others around him do. Which in most cases is very true. The beat vibes and alone is an ear absorber. The beat paired with the vulnerability and lyricism is impeccable. I know personally as a fan, the artistry is greatly appreciated. Expressing moments he won’t get back as well as life experiences, you hear how the cherished instances and the appreciation that was developed.

Fresh off the full-length release, “Sugar Hill” appears to be the standout single. Now, Doley came through with the premiere of his brand new music video. From the jump, we see him transform into a member of the Skuggs family. 

Doley speaks on the new video saying, “Sugar Hill” takes place uptown in the Bronx in my hood.” He goes on to tell HNHH, “It’s the continuation of ‘Lobby’ as it takes place the morning after and takes us out the lobby to the basketball courts where we ball for real, figuratively and literally. The song is inspired by the classic 90’s movie Sugar Hill.”
