Rapidly rising Chicago based singer, songwriter and producer Adam Ness has unveiled his first full length album after teasing his fans on social media in recent months. Sagittarius, Vol. 2 is out now and it has something for everyone on there.
 
The record is a sequel to his 2019 Sagittarius, Vol. 1 that featured cutting edge tracks such as “Have A Good Time” and “Puff Puff” appearing alongside other four tracks that ultimately solidified him as one of R&B’s most promising voices and musical architects to look out for.
 
Adam’s ascension in R&B has been a laudable unstoppable run since his first effort at a project in 2016 with #HighPlaces that has placed him among the fresh voices of R&B and Neo-soul soundscape instigating he will be a huge star in days to come.
In 2018, he went on to be a cornerstone voice: featuring twice on one of Hip Hop and Chicago’s most exalted artists’ album, Room 25 by the Spoken word wizard, Noname.
His voice weaseled freely on the cuts, “no name” and “Prayer Song” before he released his own 2019 EP, Sagittarius, Vol. 1.
 
After countless releases, performances, a pandemic, collaborations, the old-souled artist with a cohort of vocals, bag pipes of range, and one of the most charismatic of music spirits, Adam revealed in a recent interview to tell us more about himself, his music, interests and his gorgeous new record, Sagittarius, Vol. 2 – Out Now.
When asked about at what point in his life did he decide to pursue a career in music, Ness said:
“I decided to pursue music when I moved to Chicago in 2011. Prior to that I sang with gospel singer Kierra Sherad for 6 years, but knew I didn’t want to pursue a musical career in the genre.”
He also shared details about his upbringing and how that played a roll in his current sound.
“The best singers come from church, and I am no exception,” he said. “People who come to my shows are a good soundboard for how I am perceived vocally/musically. I’ve heard people mention feeling like my music and performance are transcending on a spiritual and musical level. that feeling you get in church when the soloist gets to the good point, is me. I’m the good point all the way through from top to bottom … Church has definitely had some influence.”
You can hear the church influences within the project and it’s clear that Adam Ness is someone with a lot of potential.
