Go ahead and pour one more drink; after all, you might be a “Liq Enthusiast.”
Nellagy is a Philadelphia-based hip-hop artist, his most recent song, “Liq Enthusiast.” The music elevates drinking to a new level of humor. “Don’t call me an alcoholic; call me a Liq Enthusiast,” goes a memorable chorus line.
Most musicians feel a strong pull toward music from a young age. Nellagy had a love-hate relationship with music since the beginning. Even though Nellagy’s dad is a musician, he had no interest in following in his footsteps. Taking an interest in the field of systems engineering, He quit and decided music was his true calling.
Nellagy sees his music as conveying his inner state of mind. Some of his other well-known works are Blitz and 100 Reasons.
“Liq Enthusiast” is a song to which a street-dance crew would bust some wild moves. It’s a song that would play during a party’s climax. When everybody is on the floor, drink in hand, partying the night away.
It opens with a catchy electric guitar riff. This sound gives it an element of grooves and edginess, a modern contrast to 90s beats. The bass is subtle; it works well to ground the verses.
The chorus for “Liq Enthusiast” is not too crowded. Nellagy gives us a simple chant to the beat during the first half. “Don’t you know I’m a Liq Enthusiast? I never cupped up I’mma need all this. Don’t you know I’m a Liq Enthusiast? Get into it.” These lyrics make for a simple chorus that anyone can shout out.
In the second half of the chorus, beats take center stage. The sounds give a choppy, staccato feel, which adds credence to the notion that a drunken person’s speech is rambling. It generates a sort of drop, a point in the song where the audience celebrates.
The flow of Nellagy is easy and smooth. He alters his rhythm at the end of the first and second verses, keeping the flow interesting and piquing the listener’s attention. The lyrics describe how a typical party starts and ends. It begins with “Ladies in the back seat, where all the buddies are…” As the party goes on, Nellagy enjoys himself. It concludes with him dancing into the night, “I adore the way she moves.”
Suppose the feeling of having a good time is on a record and played at a party. The song is Liq Enthusiast by Nellagy.
