IF NOTHING STOPPED JWRITEZZ DESPITE HIS EARLY CHILDHOOD CHALLENGES, NOTHING SHOULD STOP YOU EITHER.

Jwritezz, a musical poet, was born in Harlem, NYC, and raised in Jamaica Queens. Growing up in Queens, he faced many challenges, which he believes contributed to making him what he is today.

Losing his brother to drugs

Facing early childhood deprivation at a very young age, Jwritezz can recall many painful memories.  At the age of 2, he lost his 5yr old brother to drugs.  The brother mistakenly took his mother’s medications for candy, ingested them, and died.

Placed in foster care at a very young age

From age 2 to 8 years old, Jwritezz was placed in foster care due to his mother’s drug world. His biological mother was a good-natured woman but got caught up in the drug world.

Getting forced to provide for his siblings despite his young age

At the age of 8, Jwritezz was returned to his biological mother, but since his mother enjoyed the drug world, he was left alone for days and quickly learned how to provide for his other siblings and himself.  He stole food from people’s homes so his siblings could eat. Morally, he knew stealing was wrong, but seeing his brother’s plight, all he could think of was to feed them in any possible way.

Jwritezz went through hell for the next few years after he was placed back in foster care together with his siblings until he one day called his mother. From that day, the mother fought to get him back and eventually did.

Although Jwritezz’s childhood wasn’t an ideal one, he accepted it, and it helped shaped him into who he is today. He wants to motivate others to continue pushing forward because if he made it through, so can you.
