“My Guys” Counscious Young Johnny and Slicky Drop Visual For Trending Track

Conscious Young Johnny and Slicky are known as the home to hip hop group, Trench Legend. Besides coming from two different stomping grounds — Johnny representing Boston while Slicky puts on for Liberia and Rhode Island, these two multi talented creatives come together to make musical magic. The two return with their latest release, “My Guys“.

Trench Legend

The two decided to connect in early 2020 where they recorded their first track together titled, “In My City”. This record set the tone for what is to expect. Interestingly, the first studio session the two had together was in Johnny’s room with one microphone and a laptop. Although they had to utilize what they had, the two were innovative with their resources. The single did it’s justice and set the tone for a high climbing career in the future for them both. From that moment on is where their undeniable vibe was established.

When in the studio in their element, Trench Legend let their creative juices bounce off one another. Listeners can feel and hear the musical connection. Although they work well together, their individuality set in their music as well makes for a great balance. Often, the two will listen to beats together but begin to write or freestyle separately. Following the foundation being created including a solid flow with authentic and substantial lyrics, they run with it. Johnny and Slicky’s different styles and formats of curating music showcase how alike yet unique they both are. Furthermore, both artists have been making music since they were teenagers. In collaboration they help each other perfect their craft and reach new pinnacles.

New Music Video

Fast forward to today and they have released the visual to their most recent release titled, “My Guys.” Inspired by their loved ones, who are currently incarcerated, the record was created. Deciding to freestyle in a car as they hear the beat drop, Johnny came up with the hook and the rest is history. These two creatives instantly grab your attention wit their melodic rap sound.

“We want my listeners to understand the feeling of missing someone who is incarcerated and to understand the depth of loyalty. We figured we’d shoot the video at the spot where basically we all came together and became close at Payne Park.”
