I waited until the end of my day to smoke it. After a few pulls of the joint, I fixated on a random Investigation ID episode. I expected to get the munchies and planned to dive into a bowl of Rocky Road post smoke sesh. But instead, I fell asleep until morning.

   The thing I love about sativas is how productive I feel after just a few hits of a pre-roll. It also doesn’t take too many puffs to get the creative juices flowing. No. 88 didn’t specify if it was an indica, sativa or hybrid, but read “Medium.” At first pull, I was delighted by its smoothness. Once my high kicked in, I was super focused and chill. After a long workday, I’d typically opt for a stiff drink and sometimes a spliff. But with Monogram in the mix, less is more. I loved toking this in exchange for a strong buzz without the drink to change things up.

7. Cann featuring Gwyneth Paltrow

When it comes to edibles and infused weed beverages, I hesitate. The edible high tends to be too unpredictable. However, Cann is a low-dose — 2 mg of THC and 4 mg of CBD beverage. I tried it at a small gathering with friends who were all drinking. I wasn’t up for a dreaded next-day hangover. So, I rolled a small joint and sipped on a Cann blood orange cardamom. Gary Payton’s Cookies 2g blunt comes in an all-natural hemp wrap and glass tip. It’s massive and has an overwhelming gassy smell with citrus layers. It’s the blunt that keeps on giving and tests at 19.85 percent THC with 0.04 percent CBD. An even balanced hybrid experience, I loved that I didn’t smoke it in a single sesh and was in awe at the even and slow burn. The high is long-lasting and far from hazy.

William Branum was born in Meridian, Mississippi. As a kid, he was pretty quiet, and in the Boys’ Scout. William was an Eagle Scout, something that interested him. He knew he wanted to be a part of some small Elite military unit but didn’t know precisely what. Then, someone told him about the Navy SEAL Teams and that excited him. He fell in love with the idea of jumping out of planes and scuba diving; he did not waste time joining the Navy between the 11th and 12th grade. 

He spent 26 years in the Navy SEAL teams, retiring in 2018. He struggled with tons of mental baggage, sleep disorders, stress, anxiety where he discovered CBD.  Because of the life-changing benefits, he started a CBD company, Naked Warrior Recovery.  He focuses on helping veterans who suffer from the same things he had to face.

Inspiration

William Branum finds inspiration in people who have undergone similar struggles as he has. Some of them are peers, some entrepreneurs, and some are just everyday people doing good in the world. One of them is Ray Care, a friend, coach, and entrepreneur. Ray was his mentor in the first SEAL platoon, then years later in civilian life as a mentor outside the military.  

Getting into CBD Business

In the last three years in the Navy, William had the title of Science and Technology Director. The SEAL teams had operational deficiencies, as one couldn’t do any mission without technology or techniques. William would look into these deficiencies and went out to find solutions. 

He gathered $16 million dollars of other people’s money to develop technologies like Quantum Cascade Laser to inflatable Sleds to recover a mini-submarine and underwater communications systems. Understanding his ability to solve numerous technical issues in the SEAL set him on a path of entrepreneurship.

Naked Warrior Recovery

The Naked Warrior has a lot of heritage. They were the predecessor to today’s Navy SEAL.  In World War II, the Navy asked for volunteers who went ashore to do reconnaissance missions to survey the beach for obstacles and lanes of assault then measure the water depth at the beach, with a rock and a string with knots. They would find obstacles underwater and on the beach, crawling around all while being fired at by the Germans. Just before the assault on Normandy (think Saving Private Ryan), would place demolition charges and blow the obstacles up before the troops came to shore. 

The other side of the Naked Warrior is a mindset. People constantly walk around feeling attacked from social media, relationships, or someone at work. People wear their egos like armor as they live their lives. Naked Warrior aims to help GET NAKED. To let go of one’s ego, one can find the healing needed to grow and be a better person. 

NAKED is an acronym, where N means Never quit, A for Accept failure, K stands for Kill mediocrity, E for Exposure, and D for Do the work. All these traits help individuals become warriors.

CBD (Cannabidiol) helps people with anxiety, insomnia, and different types of chronic pain. Unfortunately, the CBD industry is unethical with poor-quality products. William, however, is striving to do business differently with his high-quality CBD broad-spectrum products.

Starting Out

He has quickly built a reputation as a thought-leader in the space of marketing. He took a seed that is an idea and watered it into a tree that’s now a fully operational marketing agency.
