Self-love is at the core of Shronda Armstrong’s multimedia platform, The Geaux Queen brand. She firmly believes that when women love themselves unconditionally, they can achieve greatness and positively impact the world. Self-love serves as the foundation for mental health, nurturing relationships, and overall well-being.
Recognizing the power of community, Shronda created Q-Chat, a dedicated platform aimed at fostering sisterhood and support. Q-Chat serves as a safe space for women to connect, share experiences, and offer guidance to one another. It’s a virtual haven where members can find encouragement, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

What can you share with us about your media brand?
Shronda: Geaux Queen is a multimedia platform that I founded to amplify underrepresented women of color and promote inclusivity in media. Our brand focuses on representation through various forms of media, including our print/digital brand magazines, interviews, The Q-Chat podcast, and our upcoming digital television network, Reign TV which will showcase podcasts & platforms by other women of color. My goal is to empower and inspire other women, especially women over 40 from diverse backgrounds by sharing their stories and experiences.
As a media professional, what is your process for creating compelling content?
Shronda: I start by identifying relatable topics that are pertinent to our culture. The purpose of Geaux Queen is: Growth/Empowerment/Ambition/Unity/through our eXperience. Our content is centered around matters within our lifestlye such as mental health, suicide prevention, woking in corporate america, entrepreneurship, entertainment and so much more. I tailor the content to resonate with our target audience, using engaging narratives, visuals, and multimedia elements to convey our message. My audience means everything to me.
What topics do you most prefer to write about/cover?
Shronda: I’m passionate about writing and covering topics related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. I also enjoy exploring themes like personal development, culture, and mental health. These subjects allow me to address important issues while promoting positive change and understanding. As a woman of color, it is extremely important to me to build a brand that centers around positivity. There is enough negative energy in the world. We need reasons to smile, celebrate and be proud. My only preference is to create nothing short of that.
Are there any journalists that inspire you? Why are they inspirational to you?
Shronda: I really admire Tamron Hall, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Roberts, Deborah Roberts and so many more. They all embody the qualities of courage, integrity, and a commitment to truth that I admire in journalism.
What qualities would you say make good journalists?
Shronda: Good journalists possess qualities such as objectivity, integrity, curiosity, and the ability to communicate effectively. They are also open to diverse perspectives, and willing to hold those in power accountable for their actions. I also feel that a good journalist is great about engaging their audience and welcoming them into their craft. When we look to our favorite journalists, we trust and value the content they present.
What have been some of your favorite media highlights throughout your career?
Shronda: Some of my favorite media highlights have been most recently interviewing Deloris E. Jordan, the sister of NBA legend Michael Jordan. The reason I will value this as one of my favorite media highlights is because discussing her experience with multiple suicide attempts brought tears to my eyes during our interview. It touched me so much to be able to present an interview that I know will change lives. I also had the opportunity to meet Tabitha Brown at a recent event sponsored by the Memphis, TN YWCA. I have had the pleasure of interviewing amazing women and entertainers for quite some time, but the opportunities that have led me to be aligned with people who are changing lives will always mean the most to me.
What are some of your media aspirations?
Shronda: I aspire to continue expanding Geaux Queen’s reach and influence, further amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering meaningful conversations. I also hope to collaborate with other media professionals and organizations to create impactful content that drives positive change. Geaux Queen is growing in our multimedia company and our goal for 2024 is to grow our digital television network, Reign TV which will allow my platform to have the opportunity to showcase even more podcasters and offer more positive and informative content for women of color.
How has media changed your life and how vital is media for society?
Shronda: Media has been a transformative force in my life as a media professional and founder of Geaux Queen. It has allowed me to amplify underrepresented voices, particularly those of women of color. Through media, I’ve been able to connect with a global audience, raise awareness about important issues, and foster meaningful conversations. Founding Geaux Queen and transforming into building a multimedia brand has changed my life. I have had the pleasure of interviewing people whom I respect and admire, while also having the ability to create a platform that other women who are seeking careers in media and journalism can learn and grow.
